FAQS

1. Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Acupuncture needles are much thinner than regular needles. They are thinner than a strain of hair and, most of the time, not even felt. With a skillful acupuncturist, most people feel minimal to no pain. The sensations vary, but many find it relaxing and soothing. If you feel a tingling sensation or a dull ache, indicating that the Qi is being activated that indicates a very prospective healing progress.

2. Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes, when performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, acupuncture is very safe. The needles are sterile, single-use, and disposed of after each session.

3. How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition, its severity, and your response to treatment. Acute issues may be resolved in a few sessions, while chronic conditions might require ongoing treatments.

4. Do you accept Insurance?

We do not accept insurance, as it typically only covers pain-related treatments, which is just one of the many conditions acupuncture can address. To offer the full benefits of acupuncture, we use various traditional healing methods that are not reimbursable by insurance. However, you can use your HSA or FSA to pay for acupuncture. We can also provide a Super Bill, allowing you to seek reimbursement directly from your insurance and claim deductions at the end of the year for tax purposes.

We will update our insurance policy as circumstances change.
