1. Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Acupuncture needles are much thinner than regular needles. They are thinner than a strand of hair and, most of the time, not even felt. With a skillful acupuncturist, most people feel minimal to no pain. The sensations vary, but many find it relaxing and soothing. If you feel a tingling sensation or a dull ache, it indicates that the Qi is being activated, signaling potential healing progress. For more information, check out our Acupuncture FAQs page.

2. Is Acupuncture Safe?

Yes, when performed by a licensed and trained practitioner, acupuncture is very safe. The needles are sterile, single-use, and disposed of after each session.

3. How Many Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions depends on your condition, its severity, and your response to treatment. Acute issues may be resolved in a few sessions, while chronic conditions might require ongoing treatments.

4. Do you accept Insurance?

Insurance typically only covers pain-related treatments, which is just one of the many conditions that acupuncture can address. To offer the full benefits of acupuncture, we use various traditional healing methods that are not reimbursable by insurance. However, you can use your HSA or FSA to pay for acupuncture. We can also provide a Super Bill, allowing you to seek reimbursement directly from your insurance and claim deductions. Currently, we accept Cigna PPO and HMO ( not ASH-covered acupuncture) and MedRisk and Corvel work comps.
